Our Story: From Local Contractor to Trusted Regional Partner
East-West Electric was founded in 1977 by master electrician Michael (Mike) Ciauro. Early on, the company focused on office buildouts and new home projects, quickly earning a reputation for dependable work and respectful, customer-focused service.
As word spread, East-West moved into larger and more complex projects—supporting airports, rail facilities, cable providers, and major commercial clients. Along the way, the team became known for stepping up when it mattered most, including helping restore power at a major New Jersey airport after a catastrophic event in the mid-90s.
Over time, talented electricians, technicians, and office staff joined the company and built long-term careers here, turning East-West into a tight-knit team that treats clients like partners.
A New Chapter: Best Energy US (formerly Krem Energy) & Mark Fosshage
In 2023, East-West began working closely with Best Energy US (formerly Krem Energy) to bring advanced energy management and efficiency solutions—including IoT-based monitoring and controls—to commercial clients. That partnership laid the foundation for the next stage of the company’s growth.
In March 2024, Mark Fosshage, acquired East-West Electrical. Mark brought a background in environmental engineering, water and wastewater energy projects, and a passion for reducing waste and improving efficiency. Under his leadership, East-West is expanding its focus on:
- Backup power and generator services
- Electrical upgrades for homes and businesses
- Energy efficiency and electrification projects
- Support for utility and rebate programs in New Jersey
Mike continues to serve as CEO Emeritus, and the core East-West team has remained in place, joined by new talent committed to carrying the company’s legacy forward.
Growing Through Generators & Service Contracts
In addition to traditional electrical work, East-West has significantly expanded its backup power division. A major milestone was the acquisition of Davis Generators, a well-established generator company with approximately 2,000 active service contracts and a long history in the region.
By integrating Davis Generators into East-West, we combined:
- Deep generator expertise and a large installed base of systems
- East-West’s electrical and energy efficiency capabilities
- A strong service culture centered around responsiveness and reliability
Today, East-West Electrical is a go-to provider for both generator installation and service
